Beck began performing stand-up comedy in 2001 just weeks before 9/11—a super funny time, as you might recall. She has performed on and off again in comedy clubs and other places of ill repute, mainly in Tennessee, Ohio, Maryland, and New York. She emceed and organized women’s comedy showcases in Columbus, OH from 2003-2004 and spent six years teaching comedy to middle school and high school students in Washington, DC and Maryland. She took a much-needed break to get tenured but is now back in action. When she isn’t teaching classes at Skidmore College or hanging out with members of the lesbian mafia, you can find her performing stand-up wherever someone hands her a microphone. Her comedy is silly, smart, punchy, and full of outrageous ideas for how to make this world a better place. She is available for hosting/performing at public and private events—just send a query and she’ll be in touch.
